In 1952, British built two colleges in Malaya. One of them was in Kota Bharu,Kelantan, which was called Kota Bharu Teachers’ College. One more was located in Penang, which was called Penang Teachers’ Training College. Then, Kota Bharu Teachers’ Training College was closed and student teachers moved to Penang. Later, it became known as Maktab Perguruan Persekutuan Pulau Pinang (MPPPP). Now, it has become Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Pulau Pinang (IPGKPP). IPGKPP is located at Combee Hills, in a beautiful valley and it is surrounded by big and tall trees as old as over a hundred years. It is near Georgetown and has easy access to the banks, shops, mosques, temples and churches. They are all in walking distance only from IPGKPP.
